Enkagrid PRO is a uniaxial geogrid of highly oriented, extruded polyester bars, with primary tensile strength in the longitudinal direction and secondary tensile strength in transverse direction, used for the reinforcement of slopes, embankments, walls, abutments, reinforced facings and platforms and foundations of buildings and other structures.

If the slope angle is steeper than the internal friction angle of the soil available, structures cease to be safe, in which case action must be taken to restore the necessary safety required and maintain it in the long term. Using Enkagrid PRO geogrids to reinforce a wide range of structures has proven itself as one of the most effective solutions worldwide. The geogrid makes up for the deficiency in the shear strength of the soil caused by the steep slope angle. Using reinforcement mats protects structures reliably against failure.

Enkagrid PRO is available in a range of five main primary tensile strengths in widths of up to 5 m. Its high longitudinal tensile strength is provided by the solid black straps. The transparent straps hold the black straps in place and transmit forces into them. The colour-coding of the bars ensure that the Enkagrid PRO geogrid is laid in the correct orientation.



As the combination of geogrid and soil can adapt to deformation without affecting the structural strength, Enkagrid PRO reinforced structures can also be based on soils which are still likely to settle.

Not least because of its solid polyester bars, Enkagrid PRO geogrids have both outstanding mechanical characteristics, such as a high level of extensional stiffness and low creep tendency, and also have optimum resistance to inherent stresses and biological and chemical influences.

With its low specific surface, the geogrid provides little opportunity for chemical reactions of any kinds triggered in the soil. The reinforcement mats are highly weather-resistant in terms of the relevant regulations.

All Enkagrid PRO geogrids are BBA (British Board of Agrément) certified and approved for reinforcing steep slopes (certificate no. 03/R133). Approval of the geogrids and their long-term performances has also been obtained from the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Civil Engineering and Development Department under certificate no. RF 3/05:
