Enkadrain®
Why
Enkadrain?
Enkadrain
is suitable for use wherever water has to be drained. This wide range of
products, each designed for a specific application, has proven itself for years
in draining basement walls, retaining walls, as permanent shuttering or pressure
relief layer in basement floors, parking decks, extensive and intensive green
roofs, gas and water in landfills , draining roadside verges, slopes and
tunnels.
With its sandwich structure of a three-dimensional open core covered on one or
both sides with a nonwoven filter or membrane, Enkadrain provides outstanding
drainage properties combined with protection against mechanical damage to
waterproof layers of structures. The filter or membrane reliably prevents fine
particles from soils, substrates, wet concrete etc, from entering the drainage
core. Enkadrain forms a gap of air between the structure and the adjacent soil,
preventing water pressure building up unacceptably on walls.
Enkadrain is extraordinarily flexible, which is not only a major advantage when
laying it, but also helps it serve as sound insulation. For this reason, many
construction projects use Enkadrain products as insulation between a source of
noise (such as railway tracks) and their adjacent buildings. But Enkadrain is
also used frequently in conventional construction as both insulation and
drainage.

At 5 m width, specific Enkadrain products are particularly suitable for use in
large areas, such as for drainage on top of landfill capping membranes and as
gas-venting layer below such liners.
Enkadrain's flexibility makes it easy to install, even at low temperatures. It
can be used between anything from -30° to + 80° depending on product type.
And, of course, all Enkadrain products are rot-proof and resistant to all
natural substances and organisms occurring in the soil. Most of the products in
the Enkadrain product family are also fire retardant to the latest Swiss
Standard for tunnels.
