Our quality assurance
Reducing quality assurance on geosynthetics to a few material indicators is not what Colbond is about. To us, quality is more about putting a wide range of components together which reflect our corporate culture in all areas. Our quality assurance is based on over 30 years experience in designing and using geosynthetics, enabling us to respond quickly to changing market requirements.

Colbond's quality assurance system includes:

• Our products are CE ("Conformité Européenne") certified since October 1st, 2002: CE conformity marking includes the CE mark on product packaging and accompanying documents containing the product information required by the European Union. These documents list the product characteristics and their tolerances allowed. The complete quality assurance system for CE designation is monitored by an approved independent institution (tBU, certificate no. 0799-CPD-11).
   
• ISO 9001: Colbond's quality management system, Arnhem (development, production and sales) and Obernburg (production) is certified by Lloyd's Quality Assurance Limited to NEN-EN-ISO 9001:2000 (certificate no. 935136)
   
• Externally monitored to DIN 18200 by independent outside institutions (Institut für textile Bau- und Umwelttechnik GmbH)
   
• In-house product monitoring in our certified labs
   
• In depth advice and training for our customers and partners

Several products themselves are also tested and certified by independent institutions. In March 2003, for example, the BBA (British Board of Agrément) approved all Enkagrid PRO geogrid product types for use in constructing steep slopes at angles of up to 70^o (certificate no. 03/R133).
